Random thought of the day!

What the hell do people that make most of their money from online sex work(cam girls, phone sex, ect) put on their taxes?  Now, I know that people who make most of their money through these revenues are pretty far and few between, but they do exist.  So how do they justify their earnings, assuming they aren’t blatantly honest about it?

If they are working through an agency of some sort then they probably get a 1099 as an independent contractor. That being the case they will have to declare all of their earnings. Even if they don’t receive a 1099, if there is an electronic record of all of their earnings, then they would be a fool not to declare these earnings. However, the wonderful part about being a 1099 is the insane amount of deductions that can be declared for this job from clothing expenses to trips to the nail salon to the space in their home dedicated to the job. That said, there is a 1.3% chance they will be audited, so they can take a gamble and play the IRS lottery if they are feeling brave. If it were truly a cash job (as in no records of the amount of money they are paid) and they want to hide that income, then they would 1) not deposit this cash in the bank 2) pay cash for everything 3) pay their bills in money orders.

    Now ya know.

Also, what would a phone sex worker list as their profession on their income tax forms? Independent consultant. Hey-anyone can consult with someone about their penis, right? There aren’t any penalties for being vague about your profession. There only penalties for under reporting gross income, not filing your taxes on time (if you owe money), or committing fraud.
